So This is What I Woke Up to Today

I woke up today, got out of bed, put coffee on, went to the bathroom, had a pee and ran some water in the tub. I have had problems with water here before so I immediately assumed the toilet line broke upstairs and I was getting their effluent in my water. So I went to see my neighbour who knows everything that happens in the building and the neighbourhood only to find out that a water main broke down the road. It is now 9:00 pm and the line has not yet been fixed. I am lucky to have water for beverages and light cooking but it would be nice to be able to wash. Check the photo of me draining my bathtub and ask yourself if you would want to wash with that water? It is worse than the water I grew up with and that had iron and sulfur in it.

Suicide as an Alternative to Life: Explained

Hopefully just a short post today. Due to the resistance to my comment that "Suicide is a viable alternative to life", I thought I should explain further now that I have added it to Bon Mots page on this site. I had a friend online, she was here every day. She sometimes traveled for work, she was self employed in the personal computer industry but even on the road she was certain to log online at some point to keep in touch and entertained. Suddenly one day she just disappeared. She had had a health concern previously but told us they did not find cancer in her. Was she in denial or were the test results uncertain? I do not know. But several months later she was being treated for cancer, then came the day she just disappeared. Prior to her treatment she had never missed a day joining her friends online now she missed a day here and there until one day she logged on no more.

Reviews

Books

Anything I choose to read and then review. I have been revisiting classics so don't be surprised to find older works here. If I include fluff such as romcoms, TG fiction or cozy mysteries, please understand that I rate these on a sliding scale based on genre. So you may see a piece of fluff which seems to get a better review than a classic. This is because I do not hold fluff to the same standard as serious writing. Fluff is the written equivalent of television so I rate it accordingly.
