Celebrating our first month online.
In "The History of My New, Not So New Blog" I noted 4 attempts at starting a blog and questioned what then would be the anniversary of my blog? True, I started other blogs and the original version of Being Jamie Lee. The first 2 blogs were from before I knew I was transgender. I still had my deadname though I was using Jamie as one of my noms de plume. The first blogs had no direction, no purpose, no theme, they were not serious attempts at blogging. The original incarnation of Being Jamie Lee corrected those problems however I was under considerable stress from family obligations, health concerns and the blog did not have a clearly defined sense of direction. I recognized that many of the posts should be replaced. The site itself was very nice and had potential but due to problems with the host1, the original site was offline for most of its life. By choosing the wrong host my blog was only online for 11 months of a 3 year term and in this blogs 4 year history, it has been missing for the last 3 years. I think it is safe to say that the journal you are reading now takes nothing from previous versions except its concept and its name. While this journal did exist prior to June 2 it was not findable on the web, it existed only as a test site to evaluate Webador. I was so pleased with the results I simply replaced the banal AI with real content. I then began creating journal entries. After I could see that the site worked properly for building content, looked good and I could create suitable content, I made the decision to purchase a one year package and one month ago Being Jamie Lee went live for the first time in almost 4 years.

1 Please note I said, "...problems with the host," not "...problems with the host and my health." I am pretty good at accepting my share of the blame however if they had prepared a proper invoice my health would not have been a factor which was seen by my prompt payment. Being able to prepare a proper invoice is a basic business essential. On their side they sent me an improperly prepared invoice, used my payment for other, unbilled services and then attempted to bullshit me when I called customer service to straighten things out. I think in this case we can lay the blame solely at the feet of DreamHost. I am certain they have many satisfied clients who would gladly recommend them but I will not, this was not my first problem with them.
