About This Page

Here you will find a collection of websites, articles, and organizations that have been insightful and helpful for different aspects of my life and journey. I hope you find them as interesting and useful as I have. These resources may provide information or supplies for some of the topics I introduce throughout the blog such as food, art, music, automobiles and spirituality. Feel free to explore and discover new things for yourself. Just click the title to open the link you are interested in. Again, new entries are added to the top so new readers should scroll to the bottom to start.

LGBT+ Resources

In this section you will find links to an assortment of LGBT+ an related organizations, websites and articles which you may find informative or helpful.

Getting Girly: Learn to adopt a girlish style. A good guide for girls wanting to develop a more fashionable, feminine style or for guys who want to be girlish. A good starting point for teen girls, transwomen and sissies.

How To Be A Tomboy: Not just for transmasc. A good  starting point if you think you may be a transman but a good guide for anyone who wants to embrace a more casual style or become a tomboy. Just say, "Yup," and click the link.

Homosexuality: A short read, this is one of the best introductions to homosexuality I have read.

Cisgender: Cis or trans, what is the difference?

MOVIEWEB: Best LGBTQ+ Movies of the 80s, Ranked

Transgender Swimwear: These styles could be out of style in as little as a couple of months but hopefully the designers creating them will be around much longer. Some links to gender-affirming design houses including TomboyX, Chromat, Rebirth Garments, BaronHong, Origami Customs, Gender Bender, Humankind and Beefcake Swimwear,

Child Gender Dysphoria Test: This links to a test parents can use if they suspect their child may have gender dysphoria. A personal note here, this test appears to be created with older children in mind, in one question it references puberty. Prior to puberty this test would certainly have assured my parents they had a perfectly cis-gendered child in me. No test is perfect and this is just one tool to help parents, it is not a definitive answer.

Adult Gender Dysphoria Test: This page has links to provide a lot of basic information regarding gender dysphoria including a 3 minute test to determine if you show signs of having gender dysphoria symptoms. The test is on the page this link connects with. As noted in the link above, no test is perfect and this is just one tool to help determine potential symptoms of gender dysphoria, it is not a definitive answer.

Other Resources

An assortment of resources I have found helpful in all other aspects of my life such as building this site.   ^.^

Achieving Happiness: Quite similar to the advice I give when counseling people so if you can't have a session with me, try watching this video. This advice can help you find Happiness but we know you won't practice it.

Microwave Magic: I do not like microwave cooking but let's be honest, we all use one. At least for reheating stuff. This article will help you get the best results from your microwave oven.

Developing Your Sense of Style and Aging: Some practical advice for being yourself and how you can express this through your sense of style. This lady appears to have a similar fashion sense to that of my own, Clarks shoes and linen for the win! But the advice is sound whatever your style and particularly pertinent to trans people.

Still Using Laundry Pods? Stop! I don't like machines making decisions for me and laundry is no exception. I know how big my load is so I like to choose water levels and such myself. I purchase machines that let me control the wash and dry parameters. I prefer to line dry my wash so I choose dryers which allow me to set the time I require should I need to finish the drying inside during bad weather. I also like to leave my drying slightly damp so I can hang them and reduce wrinkles. I seldom need to iron, saving more time and electricity. I keep a coffee measuring scoop to add detergent to my washing machine. I use 1-3 scoops for a load of laundry depending upon how soiled the clothes are. Click the link for more laundry tips.

Repurposing Unwanted Makeup: We have all tried a makeup product that didn't work for us or had a product dry out from limited use. The makeup industry has slowly made some changes to its practices but still lags in environmental  concerns. What to do with that used makeup? Some ideas are presented in this article. Thanks to my sister I have been sharing since I began using makeup on a regular basis, click the link for more ideas.

Proboards: There are some technical limitations to Proboards but you get free message boards with almost unlimited possibilities.

Freepik: Create great designs, faster.

Webador: Your website, your way. Not perfect but it makes it easy to create whatever type of website you want.

Tidbits

Interesting, curious, captivating or just plain amusing, let us entertain you.

A Brief History of the Internet: 30 years after it began, a glance back at what did the internet look like in 1994?

Nir and Far: Why People Check Their Tech at the Wrong Times (and the Simple Trick to Stop It) Kill the habit of tech distracting at the wrong times. We have all gone to visit, gone to a restaurant or to a movie with someone who does not turn their phone off. This sends the very clear message that the device or people they are not spending time with is more important to them than the person who chose to spend time with them. Can you change their rude behaviour?
